Tow-vehicle match
At 7,650 lbs dry, this rig pairs with 2500-series heavy-duty pickups. Loaded it can reach 9,995 lbs, with about 940 lbs on the hitch, so check your truck’s payload and tow rating too.
Most travel trailers are three-season campers with good intentions. The Evergreen 293RK is the real thing. Cascade Coach builds it with an R-38 roof, dual-pane windows, heated and enclosed tanks and valves, and a heat pump on top of the ducted furnace. People in our service department use this exact floorplan for ski trips to the Uintas in January.
The layout is a classic rear kitchen, and it is a good one. A wraparound solid-surface counter gives you real prep room, there is a 21-inch oven, and the windows over the sink look out the back. Opposing slides make the living room wide enough to walk past someone sitting on the sofa without turning sideways.
It is a heavier trailer, close to 1,000 pounds on the hitch, so plan on a three-quarter-ton truck. The upside of that weight is insulation and structure you can feel on a windy pass. With 400 watts of solar and a lithium battery standard, you can sit at a frozen trailhead with the furnace cycling and the lights on.
