Budget-minded families, this is the one. The 2018 Lodestar 26BH sleeps eight, tows behind a half-ton and costs less than a lot of new pop-ups. It has no slides, which means nothing to leak, align or fix, and a layout that has been a family favorite for a decade for good reason.

Kids get double-over-double bunks at the back. Parents get a queen up front. The dinette and jackknife sofa both make down into extra beds for sleepovers. A tub/shower combo is a big plus with little ones, and the three-burner range with oven handles pancakes for a crowd.

Before it hit the lot, our service department installed new tires, resealed the roof and checked every appliance. You will see some honest wear on the upholstery, but the bones are solid. Take it to Flaming Gorge this weekend and figure out the rest later.
